Geopark and Landscape Engagement Curator

The aspiring Jersey Island Geopark is seeking UNESCO Global Geopark accreditation in recognition of our Island’s internationally important geology, landscapes, natural environment and heritage. This role forms part of the team who, since 2021, have been developing the Jersey Island Geopark in preparation for an application for UNESCO Geopark status. Salary: £21.43/p/h, full-time, permanent 37.5 hours per week. Start January 2026

Jersey stakes its claim on the world stage with Geopark campaign launch

The aspiring Jersey Island Geopark has today (19/05/2025) launched a brand campaign aimed at securing UNESCO Global Geopark status – a non-statutory international designation that would place Jersey firmly on the global map as a destination of exceptional geological, cultural, and environmental significance. Entitled ‘A Symphony of Creation’, the campaign builds support for Jersey’s UNESCO Global Geopark bid – shining a spotlight on the Island’s geological story. The campaign tells the story of an Island forged by fire, ice and sea as conducted by Alex Conway, from the London Incidental Orchestra. The film brings to life the raw, elemental story of Jersey’s formation, set to the powerful swell of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

Step back in time and explore the fascinating geological and historical landscape of Jersey’s north-western corner with the Around L’Etacq and Le Pinacle geowalk, hosted by the aspiring Jersey Island Geopark. This free, guided walk will take Islanders and visitors on an unforgettable journey through over 200 million years of rock history, showcasing remarkable geological features, evidence of past climate change, and fascinating human history.
