Could you Champion Jersey’s Geological Heritage?
The aspiring Jersey Island Geopark is inviting Jersey residents and businesses to become advocates for the island's world-class geological wonders as it advances towards UNESCO Global Geopark status.

The aspiring Jersey Island Geopark equips ambassadors with training on UNESCO principles, guided storytelling, geotourism best practices, and promotional tools to amplify the Geopark’s living classroom and narrative.
Individuals are encouraged to champion Jersey’s geodiversity, fostering sustainable tourism and community pride amid coastal conservation challenges.
The ambassador programme invites islanders to:
- Raise awareness: Teach islanders and visitors why our rocks, reefs, and rolling headlands are treasures worth cherishing.
- Support growth: Lend your skills, networks, and voice to help us thrive.
- Lead the charge: Guide walks, give talks, and spark curiosity about Jersey’s geology and landscapes.
Paul Chambers, Head of Geopark, aspiring Jersey Island Geopark encourages islanders to get involved:
“We are thrilled to empower Jersey voices to share our primordial stories and geological history. This programme drives forward our ambition to become a UNESCO Global Geopark, creating authentic connections that drive visitor engagement and local guardianship. We look forward to welcoming prospective ambassadors.”
Interested parties are invited to contact Meg Newstead, Geopark Education & Engagement Officer to express interest.
